Dr. Ben McDonald
Dr. Benjamin McDonald earned his bachelor’s degree from Harding University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2014. Originally from Indianapolis, he wanted to relocate to a small community where he can have a close relationship with patients. Dr. McDonald enjoys being a dentist here because it has given him the opportunity to provide service to a great community. He enjoys helping people—whether it’s an emergency case or providing a smile makeover.
Outside the office, Dr. McDonald enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and three daughters. A member at Withamsville Church of Christ, he also enjoys traveling and sports, especially football and basketball.
Rhonda Owens
Dental Hygienist
West Union native Rhonda has been with the practice for more than 21 years, and she particularly enjoys educating people on taking good care of their oral health. She is a certified dental assistant and has an associate degree in dental hygiene from the University of Kentucky. Rhonda is a recipient of the Golden Scaler Award for outstanding clinical excellence in dental hygiene.
In her spare time, she enjoys working in her flower garden and boating, and spending as much time as possible with her grandbabies.
Angie Holbrook
Dental Hygienist
Originally from Seaman, Angie finds meeting new people and getting to know her patients among the most rewarding aspects of her job. She has an Associate of Applied Science Dental Hygiene degree from Shawnee State University. With Smile Designs of Southern Ohio for 31 years, she appreciates how each day is different.
Angie enjoys traveling, fishing, and snow skiing outside the office.
Nickie Johnston
Dental Assistant
Nickie, who grew up in Peebles, was trained at the Institute of Dental Technology and has been with Smile Designs of Southern Ohio for six years. She loves getting to know and working with her patients every day. Outside of work, Nickie is more than likely spending time with her family.
Heather Meadows
Dental Hygienist
Peebles native Heather has an Associate of Applied Science Dental Hygiene degree from Shawnee State University. With the practice for three years, she cites building relationships, getting to know her patients, and helping people learn how to properly care for their oral health as the highlights of her job.
Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, reading, and baking.
Becky Freeze
Dental Assistant/Receptionist
Originally from Rarden, Becky is radiology certified and received much of her training on the job. After nearly two decades with Smile Designs of Southern Ohio, she loves interacting with the patients and getting to know them personally.
When she isn’t working, Becky enjoys spending time with her family. Her favorites are the beach, camping, traveling, and Christmas time. Becky is also a big animal lover.
Joyceann Daulton
Dental Receptionist
Georgetown resident Joyceann has a radiology certification and has been working in the dental field for 36 years, six of which have been with Smile Designs of Southern Ohio.
In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
